RevitaLawn’s Prescription Nutrition®
SOIL ENHANCEMENT
LAWN & PLANT HEALTH CARE PROGRAM

For years, the Pest Fog 4-step lawn care program has met the basic needs of lawns in Corpus Christi. But recently, more of our customers have experienced an increase in fungal diseases and other problems related to poor soil biology. These lawns were not thriving and not meeting anybody’s expectations—so we decided to offer a change. One alternative was to apply fungicides, but they are expensive, short-lived, and do not address the real underlying problem(s). The other, more proactive, approach was to build up the beneficial soil microbes in an attempt to lessen fungal activity and promote a healthier soil. Hence, the RevitaLawn Prescription Nutrition® Program was born.

A healthy soil supports a greater diversity of beneficial micro-organisms, which in turn promotes a thicker more resilient turf. Here in the Coastal Bend, many issues—extreme heat, erratic rainfall, insects, compacted soils, high soil & water pH—limit turf longevity and ultimate health. Combined with proper mowing and watering, the RevitaLawn Prescription Nutrition® Program enhances plant health and greatly reduces the negative effects of weeds, pests, diseases, and the extreme South Texas climate.

 Adjust Nutrients

In simplistic terms, fertilization can be thought of as applying only the macro-nutrients nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium (N-P-K). While N-P-K is a must, the typical lawn requires a more comprehensive program to thrive and look its very best.

RevitaLawn® wants to change the way people think about “fertilization.” Our Prescription Program feeds the soil first, which in turn feeds the lawn. Modern horticultural and agricultural practices dictate just the opposite. Most common synthetic fertilizers and chemicals feed the plant, but at the expense of sound, healthy soil.

While not absolutely necessary before starting the RevitaLawn® program, we highly recommend a soil analysis.  Adjusting nutrients based on soil test results accelerates the healing process.  Soil has a chemical, physical, and biological component all working in tandem. By balancing the chemistry first, the physical and biological components are much easier to adjust. Determining the current status of the soil is an important first step, as it provides a clearer picture of the excesses, deficiencies, and imbalances present. Soil testing is our road map, and allows fertility and biological resources to be applied in the most precise, efficient manner.

Frequently Asked Questions

What if I want to change from my current lawn program to RevitaLawn’s
Prescription Nutrition Program®
?

No Problem. If you have paid for a season in advance, we will apply the balance to the RevitaLawn Program. If you pay by the service, we will continue to bill for the treatments performed.

How is the Prescription Nutrition Program® different from other programs?

At RevitaLawn, we make soil enhancement our primary goal. Most programs rely on the use of soil damaging highly acidic, salt based fertilizers. The Prescription Program refrains from simple N-P-K fertilization and incorporates means, methods, and materials that address the chemical, physical, AND biological needs of your soil and plants.

What other benefits does RevitaLawn provide?

RevitaLawn is not just about lawns. Ask about our programs designed to maximize the health and vigor of your shrubs, ornamental beds, and trees.

Our goal…Your Total Satisfaction. The staff at RevitaLawn will work with you to optimize mowing and watering schedules, and provide ongoing monitoring services to assure your landscape remains luscious and vibrant.

Can the Prescription Nutrition Program help with the rampant fungal diseases present in the Coastal Bend?

The Prescription Nutrition Program incorporates a unique microbial inoculums to help combat the common fungal pathogens present in the Coastal Bend. BEST OF ALL…there is no extra cost to you, as this is already part of our comprehensive program.

Is it true that increasing soil health and plant vigor can decrease water use?

Yes, this is true. While this reduction in water use does not happen overnight, the general trend across the country has been a 25-30% decrease…AND what this means for you is a smaller water bill.
